The AARP® Auto Insurance Program from The Hartford offers insurance for your antique auto as well as your "everyday" vehicles, all in one convenient place.

An antique auto is generally 25 or more years old and is maintained primarily for use in exhibitions, club activities, parades and other similar events.

Antique Auto Insurance Coverage

In most states, the amount of coverage provided for an antique auto is determined using "stated amount" - an amount that you and The Hartford agree on as the maximum value for the vehicle. In the event of a loss, a claim adjuster will determine the current value of the antique auto, which cannot be more than the "stated amount" listed on the policy.

In some states, The Hartford is introducing antique auto coverage based on "agreed value." This is the amount of coverage that you and The Hartford agree on as the value for the car, based on a recent, certified appraisal. The following coverages are available for antique autos (varies by state):

• Bodily Injury Liability
• Property Damage Liability
• Physical Damage to your auto (mandatory for antique autos)

For an additional premium, you may be able to add the following optional coverages (varies by state):

• Towing and Labor
• Extended Transportation
• Full Glass

If you bundle your home and auto insurance with the AARP Auto and Homeowners Insurance Program from The Hartford, you could save on both.

† If you are age 50 or older, once you’re insured through this Program for at least 60 days, you cannot be refused renewal as long as applicable premiums are paid when due. Also, you and other customary drivers of your vehicles must retain valid licenses, remain physically and mentally capable of operating an automobile, have no convictions for driving while intoxicated and must not have obtained your policy through material misrepresentation.
