How Do I Apply?

To get started you'll need to. . .

  1. Apply to one or all three schools – no separate Alliance application is necessary – just complete and submit the college application.

  2. Fill out your FAFSA paperwork  – the earlier the better! Indicate which school(s) you want to receive this information: Trinity College, UConn or Howard University (if you are unsure as to which school you want to attend, make sure you have your information directed to all possible school choices).

  3. Interview with a representative from The Hartford - The interviews will be scheduled through either the Career Center or the Guidance Department at each of the four public high schools. See your Guidance Counselor or Career Center staff person for details.

Deadlines:

  Application FAFSA
UCONN 2/1/05 2/1/05
Howard University 2/1/05 2/1/05
Trinity College 1/15/05 2/1/05

Additionally: It is recommended for students to follow up with FAFSA to make sure your submission has been received, is not being held up (due to missing information/other), and to check on the status. Do not assume anything regarding this process.

NOTE: Students who have not completed the FAFSA, or have incomplete or incorrect FAFSA forms, will not be eligible for consideration into The Alliance program.

If you need help regarding this process, there are several things you can do:

  1. Ask your guidance counselor for help; or
  2. Contact the Financial Aid Office at the college for assistance.
