Railroad Contractors
Taking Obstacles
Off the Tracks
The railroads are the lifeblood of our economy, and their continuing success is everyone’s priority. At The Hartford, we’re doing everything we can to help clear the way for companies like yours to move forward without worrying about liability and exposures that are unique to the railroad industry.
Railroad Protector Plan® (RRPP)
To help this important work move forward, The Hartford, working with the Insurance Administrative CenterSM, has created the Railroad Protector Plan® (RRPP). This insurance program includes railroad protective liability insurance, railroad manufacturing insurance and railroad construction insurance – coverages designed specifically for the unique requirements of the railroad industry.
The RRPP General Liability Insurance covers:
- Automatic protection for work within 50 feet of track (many carriers have an exclusion)
- Automatic coverage of additional insured and waivers of subrogation when required by written contract
- Per project aggregate also available
Railroad Liability Insurance
Railroad liability insurance allows you to get a separate policy with separate limits of coverage for work done on or near railroad tracks or railroad property. This additional coverage is available when the Hartford writes the general liability insurance.
The types of coverage available include:
- Property
- General Liability
- Commercial Auto
- Umbrella
- Inland Marine
