Details
Short-term Disability (STD): Help protect their paycheck.
When employees are unable to work because of a disabling injury or illness, STD goes to work for them, replacing part of their income. Our product makes the whole process easier for everyone because experienced nurses handle the claims, providing compassionate expertise that can reduce durations. We can integrate STD with Leave Management.We use a 100 percent return-to-work incentive formula for companies with 500+ employees.
Long-term Disability (LTD): Continuing protection.
Like STD, our LTD product is carefully designed to emphasize ability, not limitations. It addresses your employees' need for a secure income together with your need for the best possible outcome at work, through features like:
- A disability definition that lets employees satisfy the Elimination Period with a loss of duties only.
- No self-reported symptom limitations, thanks to effective claims management.
- Ability Assist®, a value-added service, which provides employees with emotional, legal and financial help. Giving them guidance to better focus on recovery.
- A Vocational Rehabilitation Program that offers vocational and job placement services, as well as work-related guidance and resources.

Ability Assist® (professional help after a disabling event).1 Employees enrolled in our Long-term Disability plan receive professional counseling for financial, legal and emotional issues, 24/7/365. Includes unlimited phone access and five face-to-face sessions per year. Services may also be available to spouse and dependent children.
GuidanceResources.1 Helps find solutions to simple and complex life concerns through confidential and professional services as part of the employee assistance program (EAP). Services include but are not limited to expert counselors (grief and family matters) as well as financial and legal consultations.
