The Risks of Drinking Driving
When it comes to driving, drinking any amount of alcohol is risky. Driving is one of the most complicated things we do. To drive, you must be able to accurately judge speed, time and distance. According to the American Automobile Association, your driving judgment is affected with your first drink and is markedly impaired after about three drinks. Under the influence of alcohol, you may take chances you normally would not. You may drive too fast, follow cars too closely, pass cars inappropriately or do other things that put you and others in danger. Alcohol also affects your judgment of what your driving ability really is. You may think you feel fine and believe your driving ability is unchanged, but with each drink it actually hinders your ability to know how well you will function. So its best not to drink and drive. |
