Heavy Decision: Is Obesity a Disability?Obesity is a serious health problem. But is it a disability? Ruling morbid obesity as a physical impairment, protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), is an action that some courts could decide to take. But although the ADA doesn't exclude obesity from its list of disabling conditions, simply being overweight isn't enough to qualify.
