Your recent feedback told us to make it easier for you to write business with us.  That’s why we’re working toward one simplified small commercial business model that allows for minimal underwriting involvement, a quick turnaround, and an easy to use automation platform.

Here are a few specifics:

You told us to increase the thresholds in our small commercial model and enable a larger portion of the market to be written with our industry gold-standard Spectrum BOP. We will!

In September, we’ll be increasing the threshold business eligible for new Spectrum policyholders to give you exactly what you’ve asked for – enhanced availability of our industry-leading BOP for a greater portion of the small business market. You’ll have the added benefits of comprehensive coverages, automation support and sophisticated pricing for ALL our small commercial business. 

We’ll also be providing you with ONE new business underwriter for all small commercial (except Technology classes, which will still go to our Tech Practice Group), making it easier and more effective than ever to work with The Hartford. 

You also told us that more sophisticated risks should be handled by one Middle Market underwriter with the expertise to handle those larger risks. We’ve responded! 

Now, policies requiring a Property or GL Choice Product are being written in Middle Market.  Our Middle Market underwriters are eager and well-positioned to level their expertise on those larger submissions.  For you, it’s easy! Send the business to The Hartford and our underwriters will ensure it is sent to the appropriate underwriter.
