Producer Compensation Discloser Information Available to Customers

Effective this April The Hartford will be including an insert with all new and renewal policies that will advise policyholders that they can receive information on Hartford's producer compensation practices on our Web site or by calling a 1-800 number. In taking this step The Hartford is following the lead of some other major carriers in enhancing customer disclosure in this area. The website information provides general information about The Hartford's compensation policies and practices, and will include ranges of base and contingent commission by type of policy. The 1-800 number has been established for those customers that do not have web access. Policyholders that call this number will be able to listen to a recorded message that contains the same information that appears on the website. Policyholders that inquire further about additional information with respect to their particular policy, will be generally encouraged to first contact their own agent or broker for this information.

Starting this April, the Producer Compensation Disclosure Statement on our web site will be enhanced to provide ranges of base and contingent commission by type of policy.
