Who’s in Your Customers’
Wallet?
Identity theft is America’s fastest
growing crime. It can be carried out in a variety of forms -
stealing wallets or purses, stealing important mail such as bank and
credit card statements, posing as a landlord or employer, and even
elaborate telemarketing scams. On average, it takes victims of
identity theft approximately sixty hours of their time and $1,200 of
their money to correct this problem. The Hartford urges you and your
clients to protect yourselves against the dangers of identity theft.
With the addition of identity recovery coverage to our Spectrum and
Spectrum Xpand core products, your small business clients will be
well equipped in the event that they are a victim of identity theft.
What makes our coverage different from what is offered by the
competition? We provide coverage for out-of-pocket expenses, of
course, but more importantly professional guidance for the victim
during a stressful time.
The Spectrum products have three unique components related to
identify theft:
1.) Identity Recovery Help Line-
connects customers who are confirmed identity theft victims with
professionals who answer their questions.
2.) Identity Recovery Case Manager
Service- Case Managers will guide claimants through all the
necessary
corrective steps, speed the recovery process, and access the right
individuals at credit
bureaus and
other important financial institutions.
3.) Identity Recovery Insurance-
Reimburses victims for expenses such as notary and filing fees,
credit fees,
and the costs for obtaining credit bureau reports. The reimbursement
insurance covers up
to $15,000
above the policy deductible.
Identity Recovery Coverage offers your customers a practical
solution to a growing problem in America. The coverage also further
enhances The Hartford’s already industry-leading small commercial
products, helping you retain renewal customers as well as win new
business. Use this offering as a tool to show your small business
customers that you are always looking out to provide their
businesses with comprehensive protection against the latest risks in
the marketplace.

This article outlines in general terms the coverages that may be
afforded under a Hartford policy. All policies must be examined
carefully to determine suitability for your needs and to identify
any exclusions, limitations or any other terms and conditions that
may specifically affect coverage. In the event of a conflict, the
terms and conditions of the policy prevail. All Hartford coverages
described in this article may be offered by one or more of the
