In what cases are the Hartford Emergency Claim Card Issued?
The Card may be issued for covered property claims resulting from a disaster or catastrophe.  Often the Card is issued to provide funds for emergency living expenses, such as temporary lodging, food, clothing, toiletries, and other necessities.

How soon can I use my Card?
After the Card is issued, funds will be available within 24 hours, but frequently are available much sooner.  You can verify the availability of your fund by calling Customer Service at 800-982-7693 or logging into www.myecount.com/thehartford.

Where can I make purchases with my Card?
Your card can be used to make purchases wherever Visa® debit cards are accepted.  You can pay for purchases by selecting "debit" and entering your confidential Personal Identification Number (PIN) into the keypad, or selecting "credit" and signing the receipt.

How can I withdraw cash from my Card?
Use your PIN to withdraw funds from any ATM that accepts Visa.  (Use "checking" as the account type).  Many retailers will allow you to obtain cash back when making a purchase.  Additionally, you can ask the teller at any bank that accepts Visa for a cash advance from your Card. (If you have difficulty obtaining a cash advance from the bank, please call Customer Service at 800-982-7693.

How do I obtain my PIN?
To get your PIN instantly, call Customer Service at 800-982-7693 and follow the prompts. 

Are there any fees for using the Card?
Any ATM fee charged to your Card within the United States will be refunded to your account within two business days.  Fees outside the U.S. may apply.

Is there a daily limit on how much cash I can withdraw from an ATM?
Although The Hartford does not impose a daily limit on how much cash you can withdraw, Citibank and other ATM operators may limit the amount and number of withdrawals you can make per day.

How do I obtain my account balance or recent transactions?
You can obtain the account balance, recent transactions, and other information by calling Customer Service at 800-982-7693, or logging into www.myecount.com/thehartford.

How do I withdraw a remaining balance from my Card?
If you have an uneven amount of money left on your Card, you may do one of the following:

(1) Make a purchase for more than the amount remaining on your Card and pay the difference with cash.

(2) Make a purchase and ask for cash back.  The total amount of your purchase and cash back must equal the remaining balance on your Card.

(3) Obtain a cash advance for the amount remaining on your Card at any bank displaying the Visa logo.
