Brion Johnson is chief investment officer of The Hartford and president of its asset management subsidiary, Hartford Investment Management Company, (HIMCO).
Johnson served as president of Talcott Resolution, the company’s former run-off annuity business, up until the business sold in May 2018. He now serves on the board of the acquiring entity. Johnson was the head of Talcott while also serving as chief investment officer and president of HIMCO. Previously, Johnson was HIMCO’s chief financial officer and head of strategy and development.
Prior to joining The Hartford, Johnson served as executive vice president and head of portfolio management for PPM America, Inc., the North American subsidiary of London-based Prudential, plc, where he built and led an investment team responsible for client relationships, portfolio management, quantitative and risk management, and trade execution.
Johnson also held management positions at Jackson National Life Insurance Company and Kemper Corporation. He began his career as a financial analyst at CNA Financial Corporation.
