Hailey Danz

Sport: Para-Triathlon

At the age of 12, Hailey was diagnosed with bone cancer in her left leg. In an effort to reclaim her life and go back to the active lifestyle she once had, Hailey decided to have her leg amputated above the knee when she was 14 years old.

After an 8-year hiatus from sports, Hailey completed her first triathlon in 2011. She has gone on to win medals at national and world championships and was the 2013 World Champion in the PT2 category.

Hailey made history at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, winning a silver medal as part of the Team USA podium sweep where Para-Triathlon made its Paralympic debut.
Hailey works closely with The Hartford, a Founding Partner of U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee, helping to positively change public attitudes and perceptions about disability.
