Use a licensed electrician • Install grounded wiring • Avoid outlet overload • Choose safety plugs • Replace faulty appliances or worn out/damaged cords • Limit the use of extension cords to short time periods • Don’t place heaters near combustible surfaces • Use the correct bulb wattage in lamps and light fixtures
