The Hartford Global Specialty Financial Lines Group (F/K/A Hartford Financial Products (HFP), Maxum & Navigators Professional Lines (MPL/LPL/EPL/D&O) and Maritime) represents The Hartford's significant presence in the financial and professional insurance markets. The Hartford is one of the largest providers of Directors Officers (D&O), Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Errors Omission (E&O) and crime insurance in the nation.
Counsel engaged to provide a defense under a policy underwritten by The Hartford Global Specialty Financial Lines Group is asked to follow the Attorney Guidelines that have been developed to meet the shared needs of clients, counsel and The Hartford. These Guidelines have been adopted with modification from the Defense Research Institute's model guidelines.
It is the general policy of The Hartford to decline to comment on pending litigation. Counsel is directed to refrain from commenting in any form on behalf of The Hartford and/or the insured without first obtaining the permission of The Hartford and of the insured if required. Please submit all requests for permission to the Regional Director of Panel Counsel by emailing Hartford - Directors of Claims Litigation Services. Allow 7 days for response if possible as all requests must be cleared by The Hartford’s Media Relations Department.
