Telematics Texting Terms and Conditions

This service provides text (SMS/MMS) messages from The Hartford to any customer who participates in the TrueLane Telematics program and provides his/her cell phone number with the intent to receive information regarding the TrueLane Telematics Program. To participate, the customer must be enrolled in the telematics program and must have a mobile telephone number with an SMS supported carrier. Consent to receive text messages is required to participate in the TrueLane program but is not a condition of purchase of the policy.
 
  1. The Hartford does not charge you to send text messages to you. However, your carrier’s standard data and messaging rates may apply to your entry or submission message, our confirmation and all subsequent SMS messages. Any applicable charges will be billed by and payable to your mobile service provider.
  2. By providing your mobile number, you consent to receive text messages from us according to the program frequency. The message frequency depends on your activity within the app. You will receive one message containing a 4-digit PIN code per login. You may receive up to 6 messages about enrollment if you don’t download and activate the app in a timely manner. You may receive up to 6 messages if you have not taken a trip or are not sending trip data due to some of the following reasons lack of driving, your permissions settings are incorrect or if you logged out of the app and this message cadence will reoccur if there are subsequent periods of inactivity. You may terminate this service at any time by replying “STOP” to a text message. You may request assistance for this service at any time by replying “HELP” to a text message. By subscribing or otherwise using the service, you acknowledge and agree that we will have the right to change and/or terminate the service at any time, with or without cause and/or advance notice. The Hartford is not liable for any delays in the receipt of any SMS messages as delivery is subject to effective transmission from your mobile service provider. SMS message services are provided on an “as is” basis and we make no warranty, express or implied, and all warranties are hereby disclaimed.
  3. Data obtained from you in connection with this SMS service may include your cell phone number, your carrier’s name, and the date, time, and content of your messages, in addition to any other information that you provide. We may use this information to contact you and to provide the services you request from us, in accordance with our Online Privacy Policy and Consumer Privacy Notice found here Online Privacy Policy.
  4. By using this service you may have access to various content. This content is subject to copyright and trademark protection. By subscribing, you acknowledge and agree that all right, title and interest, including the trademark and copyright rights, in and to such works are property of The Hartford and that you will not gain any ownership or other right, title or interest therein or thereto. You may not copy, download, or make any other unauthorized use of such items.
