A Benefit to Help Pay for Crumbling Foundation Repairs
If you’re a current or former homeowners policyholder of The Hartford with a home located in Connecticut and you are experiencing deterioration of your foundation due to the presence of pyrrhotite, we may be able to help. We’ve created a $3.5 million fund called The Hartford Benefit Program that can help pay for repairs that are not fully covered by the Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity Company (CFSIC). So if you’ve already repaired your home, The Hartford Benefit Program may be able to provide an additional monetary benefit.
Current homeowners policyholders of The Hartford who meet all criteria are eligible for up to $25,000. Former policyholders who meet all criteria are eligible for up to $10,000. In either case, the amount you’ll receive is subject to program terms and availability of funding.
You may be eligible to receive the benefit if you meet three criteria:
- You file a claim with CFSIC and it is paid.
- Your home is insured with The Hartford, with a policy in effect on or before January 8, 2019. You may still qualify if your home was formerly insured with The Hartford, as long as your policy was effective on or before January 8, 2019.
- The cost of structural repairs or replacement exceeds what CFSIC will cover.
