With the new SmartPay Reporting Service (SPRS) option, customers who run their own payroll, use a payroll partner not partnered with The Hartford or use a payroll company that owns an insurance agency, can easily submit payroll to us. This means more customers can take advantage of cash flow benefits like:
- No down-payment
- No monthly billing or service fees
- Lower likelihood of premium audit surprises
For their service, SmartPay charges the customer an annual fee of $130.
Simple Set-Up & Registration
- After you’ve issued the policy in ICON, follow these steps to easily enroll your customer in the SmartPay option.
- Your customer completes the SPRS Registration form and pays the annual fee.
- Your customer receives an email notice to register for XactPAY through My Account.
- Once registered, the customer classifies their employees in XactPAY.
SmartPay Does All the Work
Once the customer is registered, SmartPay will handle everything else, like setting up their payroll provider on SPRS, transmitting payroll to The Hartford as payroll is run and handling employee roster add and changes.
