With Business Travel Accident insurance (BTA), employers can help provide important, high-limit coverage for their employees. With a wide array of programs to choose from – such as our standard or specialized plans – The Hartford can tailor a program to help meet any employer’s needs.
 
Every policy includes:
 

Standard

Our standard plan is designed for groups with 2 to 999 insured individuals. This policy covers injury resulting from an accident which occurs anywhere in the world during a business trip.

Law Enforcement & Emergency Personnel

Because emergency responders and law enforcement professionals risk their lives every day, reliable insurance protection in the event of a life disrupting accident is essential. The Hartford Business Travel Accident insurance (BTA) provides a range of coverage options and benefit levels tailored to the risks they face in the line of duty.
 
Basic coverage includes:
 
  • 24-hour coverage for covered injury, paralysis or death resulting from a covered accident while on employer premises or traveling on business
  • Variable benefit for officers and public employees, payable in a lump sum benefit
  • Benefits payable for losses with 365 days of the covered accident

Healthcare

This program was designed specifically for physicians and their staff to provide 24-hour coverage while they are traveling on business in the event of an injury, paralysis or death from a covered accident. These benefits are payable for losses that occur with 365 days of the covered accident.
 
This program offers:
 
  • $1 million benefit for physicians
  • $100,000 for all other employees
  • A lump sum benefit that is payable regardless of any coverage

Educators

This program is designed for public and educational employees and offers 24-hour coverage while traveling on business, at work on the premises of the policyholder, for on assignment by or at the direction of the policyholder. Covered members of this program will receive benefits in the event of an injury, paralysis or death resulting from a covered accident. This program offers a$100,000 payment for educators or a lump sum benefit is payable regardless of any coverage the insured may already have.
