Chief Risk Officer

Prateek ChhabraPrateek Chhabra is the chief risk officer for The Hartford. He is responsible for oversight of insurance, market, credit and operational risks and risk management practices across the enterprise.
 
Chhabra joined the company in 2018 as vice president and chief insurance risk officer, with responsibilities that included the continued development of enterprise risk management capabilities while supporting the business segments' objectives in pursuit of profitable growth. He is an accomplished leader with demonstrated experience in supporting enterprise objectives through effective risk management and an extensive understanding of our business and industry with a unique perspective on effectively assessing and managing risk. Under his leadership, the risk management framework has seen significant advancements, driving innovation and strategic improvements across the organization.
 
Prior to joining The Hartford, Chhabra was chief risk officer for the U.S. business at The Hanover Insurance Group. He also held multiple risk and strategy consulting roles, focused on the financial services sector, with market leaders including McKinsey & Company, Aon and Verisk.
 
Chhabra earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting from Panjab University, a post-graduate diploma (equivalent to a master’s degree) in finance and marketing from FORE School of Management and a master’s degree in business administration with specializations in finance and management information systems from Rochester Institute of Technology.
