HartMob logo For more than 200 years, The Hartford has helped prepare and protect small businesses. We have more than one million small business customers. And we work together with each of them so they can prevail when the unexpected strikes. We’re also coming together as a company to show big love for our small business customers through our HartMobs. These events give us the opportunity to come together to show that there truly is strength in numbers, and that we’ve got more than insurance to help our small business customers find their success. What is a HartMob?

It is a "cash mob" – The Hartford's employees, friends, family and business partners visit a customer's business at a specific date and time and show some love by purchasing products and services. Employees participate in the events on their own time and spend their own money. HartMobs are not just for brick-and-mortar businesses. We also have online events to support customers with a digital storefront.
The excitement of a HartMob with its crowd of customers, surge in sales, and additional exposure in the local community can deliver a welcomed boost. It's one of the best ways we can express our sincere support of our small business owners and our local communities.

How It Started

In 2012, a small group of employees wanted to show appreciation for our small business customers. They picked a local customer and organized a date to visit. Each employee spent a little time and a little money, but as a whole, the HartMob had a huge impact.
This unique grassroots initiative keeps getting stronger. Our people started the HartMob and their support for small business continues to build. Employees are holding HartMobs across the country. They're shopping at the types of small businesses we protect, from artists and boutiques to candy makers and spin studios.

What's Next for HartMobs?

Our customer-appreciation program is growing even more. Our employees and partners are including more events, cities, and small businesses. The goal? Show big love to some of our 1 million-plus small business customers. With The Hartford, it's big love for small business
