How Do I Sign Up?

You can enroll through work during your employer’s annual enrollment event. If you’re already enrolled and have a qualifying life change (like getting married or welcoming a new baby), you may be able to add dependents to your coverage, too.

Accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity insurance add a layer of protection on top of your medical plan. If you have a covered injury, serious illness or hospital stay, you get a cash benefit payment paid directly to you. You can use that money however you need — for medical copays, groceries, child care, rent or even a food delivery service, as a few examples.
The cost of accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity insurance varies based on your employer, but they're typically an affordable way to better protect your finances. Check your employer’s plan details for pricing information.
If you’re enrolled in a plan through The Hartford, you’ll submit a claim — either online or by calling us. Once your claim is reviewed and if approved, the cash benefit payment is sent directly to you — not a healthcare professional or facility.
Depending on your employer, you may be able to choose a family plan option during benefits enrollment. Check your employer’s plan details before enrolling. If you’re already enrolled and have a qualifying life change (like getting married or welcoming a new baby), you may be able to add all dependents to your coverage, too.
